House Seasoning Salisbury Steak

Tender beef patties with onions and mushroom gravy, seasoned with Minnezona House Seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon Minnezona House Seasoning, divided
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2½ cups beef broth

Directions

  1. Mix beef with 2 teaspoons House Seasoning, breadcrumbs, egg and Worcestershire. Form 6 oval patties.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet and brown patties 3–4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
  3. Add mushrooms, onion and butter to the skillet and cook 7–8 minutes until browned.
  4. Stir in flour and remaining House Seasoning for 1 minute, then gradually stir in beef broth.
  5. Return patties to the skillet. Cover and simmer 15 minutes until patties reach 160°F and gravy thickens.
  6. Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.

Recipe Notes

  • Ground beef patties should reach 160°F.
  • Do not overwork the beef mixture.
  • Add a splash of broth if the gravy becomes too thick.
